April 2007 Band Alumni Association Expands Online It is with great enthusiasm we announce the all-new ummbalumni.org! Features include news and events listings, access to Yahoo! Groups and Facebook pages, and the all-new BandoWiki to track and store your best-loved memories of the Minuteman Band.
Since the band moved out of Chapel in 1997, it has remained empty. Since the clock tower was restored, only the occasional tour group finds its way "through these doors." Just last week, the brothers and sisters of Kappa Kappa Psi and Tau Beta Sigma sponsored "History Day," offering bandos the opportunity to see this part of Minuteman Band history. Do your part to preserve this history by contributing to the Band Building Campaign today. DeFuria Memorial We reported in February the sad and untimely death of band parent and UMass alumnus Doug DeFuria. We wish to thank Doug, his family and his friends for the unprecedented generosity his memory has brought to the band. Gifts totalling over $1,700, made in memory of Doug, benefit the Band Building Campaign. We will remember and cherish you always, Doug. Thank you.
